Self-proclaimed RCW Supreme Champion Danny “Your Hero” Daniels takes on Alabama slammer Nathan Herod, Orin “The Lynx” LeBlanc battles Ryan Faith, and Owen “Truth” Curtis finally returns to the ring to face exciting high-flyer “Golden Boy” Nolan Dorado.

PORTLAND, OR, July 31 — Rip City Wrestling’s front office today announced that “Lone Wolf” Brody Thunder, who was defeated at RCW Wild Summer Night by Owen “Truth” Curtis, has had his contract terminated by mutual consent, and he has no further obligations with the promotion.

RCW President Daniel Spreadbury commented, “Brody Thunder is truly one of the greatest legends in the history of the sport, and we have been privileged to have him competing here in Rip City Wrestling. I have tried to persuade Brody to stay, but one thing you can say for sure about the Lone Wolf — he knows his own mind. On behalf of everybody associated with RCW, I wish Brody Thunder a long and happy retirement with his wife Tamara.”

RCW officials also confirmed the release of two other athletes following the events of Wild Summer Night. “Showtime” Rick Marley, who was defeated by Ryan Faith at the promotion’s first pay-per-view, has been released from his contract on compassionate grounds. “We wish Rick all the best in dealing with the personal issues that he’s currently facing,” said RCW’s Head of Talent Relations, Brad Kinder. “He’s a great athlete and he’s welcome back in RCW once he’s got his head straight.”

Meanwhile, “The Fallen Angel” David Cross, who was defeated by Nathan Herod and Christian Right in a handicap match at Wild Summer Night, has also been released from his contract. Kinder said, “It just didn’t seem to work out with David Cross. He’s an experienced grappler with a great look and a lot of talent, but perhaps he just wasn’t quite hungry enough to succeed here in Portland.”

With three departures in the twelve days since Wild Summer Night, some new faces may be on their way to RCW. “Let’s just say that we’re always evaluating new talent, and when RCW next hits the Rose Garden, on Thursday, August 17th, you can expect a few surprises,” said RCW President Daniel Spreadbury.

Sunday 16 July will go down in history as the date of one of the greatest nights of wrestling action the Pacific north-west of the United States has ever seen, as Rip City Wrestling presents its first-ever pay-per-view event, Wild Summer Night.

Nine blockbuster matches, headlined by RCW Champion Johnny Pleasence defending his title against number one contender “Pistol” Paul Driscoll, plus an unsanctioned Lights Out match pitting Owen “Truth” Curtis against the legendary “Lone Wolf” Brody Thunder. But it’s incredible action from the top of the card to the bottom: a Three-Way No Escape Cage Match pitting the high-flying “Golden Boy” Nolan Dorado against submission specialist Vinny Carmazzi and the explosive Orin “The Lynx” LeBlanc; a Street Fight pitting one of the greatest technicians of all time, Lord Byron, against the first hobo of wrestling, “The Jersey Drifter” Liam Cassidy; a Submission Match pitting former king of the death match Akitoshi Ogawa against Tennessee rookie Mark Coleman, and much more besides!
